We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we want to also wish you a very Happy New Year! We hope it brings happiness to you all. We would like to take the time to let you know some of the changes Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC are undergoing. We are consolidating our 2 sales centers back down to 1 in order to lower our prices and still provide our mission which is to proved all of Western North Carolina and the surrounding areas with affordable housing while not sacrificing quality, amount of options or flexibility of design. Prior to opening our Franklin sales center in 2004, we efficiently and effectively provided many customers with wonderful homes and a great experience. We are going to continue offering the same services with even moreattention from our home office in Fletcher. What opportunities does this give you? To start, the first 3 of you to act on the liquidation of the Franklin Sales Center will find a deal of a lifetime. We are selling the 3 lot models at the manufacturer's invoice! This is a savings in the thousands of dollars! Please contact Kris Dotson at 828-243-2492 for more details or you can email him at kdotson@ahs-homes.com. Secondly, with lowering the overhead of having 2 sales centers Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC has been able to negotiate our pricing structure and are in the process of lowering prices on every house we build! So those of you who miss out on the lot model sales, or the lot models aren't the house for your family; get in touch with Kris as well! Any of you that have priced a house with us previously, please contact us again. You have heard it said, "it is the right time to buy a house." I couldn't agree more. Prices of materials are down, prices of labor are down, interest rates are down, the government has incentives set up for many of you, the list goes on. Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC thanks each of you for coming to our site. We hope to hear from you soon. Kris will be on the Franklin sales center on Friday's and Saturday's until the models are sold. He will also be available by appointment only the other days of the week. Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC will continue to serve all of Western North Carolina with their housing needs. This includes but is not limited to Brevard, Rosman, Mills River, Hendersonville, Edneyville, Etowah, Fletcher, Arden, Asheville, Woodfin, Weaverville, Mars Hill, Candler, Canton, Waynesville, Sylva, Cherokee, Bryson City, Dillsboro, Whittier, Franklin, Robbinsville, Highlands, and Cashiers. We are excited about the opportunity to custom build your next home.

Sandra and I would like to say thank you to all 250 + customers that have allowed us to build their new home since we opened in 2000.  Below is a press release from the North Carolina Manufactured and Modular Homebuilders  Association awarding Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC the "Retailer of the Year Award" for 2008 for all of North Carolina.  Without you our customers, our wonderful employees and subcontractors we certainly would not have been able to achieve such an honor.  Again we thank each of you and if you are a prospective customer be assured you will be treated honestly, and with the utmost respect, as we talk with you about your new home purchase.  More important than this award is the award you give us by allowing us to build your new home.  Thank you and God bless.

Thank you for your visit to the the Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC web site.  We have been in business since September 2000 and have built over 250 homes for our friends in Western North Carolina, North Georgia, and Upper South Carolina.  Thank you to all our clients and those prospective clients who have recently visited our model home centers.

I know most everyone is concerned about the so called housing and mortgage crisis and I would like to set the record straight as best I can.  Without the media's bad publicity there probably wouldn't be a crisis in the housing or mortgage industry.  We have found people who want to buy new housing and are credit worthy are waiting because the negative publicity that is being spewed out over the media is scaring them away.  The facts that are not ever mentioned in the media are one, the interest rate is as low as they have ever been in recent history.  Two, there are still good mortgage programs out there for credit worthy people.  Three, just because there are unfavorable items on the credit report or the score isn't  astromically high doesn't necessarily mean a person cannot get a mortgage for their new homes.

Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC has great relationships with a number of mortgage banks and brokers that can assist our clients with the mortgage piece of the housing puzzle.  My wife and I are so proud of the people in our organization because they are the most knowledgable, ethical, and pleasant people to be found in the industry.  Each one stands ready, willing and able to help you thru the stress of new home building.  You may contact Kris (General Manager of Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC), or Tommy or Nicole (our consultants in the Flecher model center)  with any questions you may have about the process of building your new home.  We also have a real estate company to help you with your real estate needs.  And we are licensed general contractors in both North and South Carolina and will be glad to help you with any or all of your site work.

Finally we are very fortunate to have developed a relationship with one of the finest modular home builders in the industry, R-Anell Homes with a state of the art manufacturing facility located in Cherryville, NC.  We had purchased high quality homes from Mascot Homes, Inc. since we opened Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC in September 2000 and they ceased operations in December 2008.  A few months prior to that we felt like they were not going to stay in business and began looking for another partner.  I have known the R-Anell people for a lot of years and have had the utmost respect for the quality of home, pricing, service and all that goes into building a top notch house for affordable pricing, but more important for the top ethical standards they have set for our industry.  A big thank you goes out to their President, Dennis Jones and all his people for their part in continuing to make Alternative Housing Solutions, LLC a viable alternative to the other housing options you have today.

God Bless,

Jerry Dotson
