Education Comes First

The staff at AHS act as guide to the new home owner, using their expertise to guide the customer through the often confusing world of building a home.

Education is the one word that best describes the AHS sales process. When a person purchases an AHS home, AHS will keep the customer informed about what is happening and when. The staff at AHS do not feel like they have to sell homes. The quality and value of AHS homes allow the homes to sell themselves. Rather, the staff at AHS prefer to take the time and educate the buyer on the different options and aspects of buying a new home. This can be anything from taking the customer on a factory tour to see the high quality way the homes are manufactured, to helping the customer consider the many options available for a home, to walking the customer through what is available for the home site itself. If land needs to be found on which to locate the property, AHS can help with that as well. AHS has its own real estate company to assist the customer to find the perfect piece of land on which to locate a new home. Throughout the entire process, the focus is on education, with no high-pressure sales pitches.

Choosing the Right Home Plan

The salesperson will present the many modular home styles, various floor plans, and upgrade options and customizations available to the perspective home owner.

The first thing for the customer to consider is the home itself. That is when the salesperson will sit down and go over the different floor plans with the customer to choose the most appealing plan. Each floor plan can be customized to meet the individual needs of the customer. Then the salesperson will go over all of the options available for that floor plan. After that, the salesperson will discuss pricing for the house, which includes investigating various financing options. After the customer decides on home plan, a home site needs to be chosen and prepared to install the home.

Finding the Perfect Home Site

If you need assistance in finding the right lot on which to locate your new home, AHS's Jerry Dotson Realty specializes in finding the right property for you.

After the customer has decided on a home, the next step is to find the right home site. At AHS, we employ our own real estate agents at Jerry Dotson Realty to go find the perfect piece of land. Our staff works for the customer’s best interests in selecting the right piece of property, looking for the property that fits the customer’s price range, and is in the right location. While many real estate firms shy away from land sales, AHS specializes in it. Customers who already have land can go on to the nest step in the sales process. But if assistance is needed finding the perfect piece of property to put a home, AHS can help.

Preparing the Home Site

Alternative Housing Solutions uses its expertise as a general contractor to properly prepare the land site for the installation of a new home.

This next step is generally called site preparation. This is the part of the process where the expert staff of AHS goes out to home site, looks at what is needed to properly prepare the site, and then gets written estimates from their subcontractors for the work. This can includes activities such as grading, drilling a well, installing a septic system, hooking up to city power, water, or sewer lines, or putting in a driveway. Finally, when everthing is ready, the installation of the new home can begin.

AHS is with the Customer from Start to Finish

At AHS, we are here to help the customer go from start to finish with their new home, from the dream of affordable home ownership, to getting the key and opening the front door of a new home.
